Don’t miss

Canal du Midi (1.5km)

Designated a UNESCO world heritage site, the Canal du Midi is a tourist attraction you simply mustn’t miss. Explore it on foot, by bike or by boat.

Carcassonne (85km)

The Cité de Carcassonne is an exceptional and unique example of medieval fortress architecture. Restored by the architect Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century, it was added to the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1997.

Cirque de Navacelle (90km)

The cirque is an amazing natural phenomenon, the Vis River having eroded a deep channel through the base of the rocky Causse valley.

Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and the Gorges de l’Hérault (65km)

Situated in the valley of the Hérault River, this outstanding landscape (classified as a ‘Grand Site de France’) covers the intersection between the hills of Saint Guilhem le Désert, the Gorges de l’Hérault and the piedmont plain of the Languedoc. It’s a huge agricultural area characterised by vineyards and olive groves.

It includes the medieval village of Saint Guilhem le Désert (classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France); the equally renowned Roman bridge, the Pont du Diable, which spans the Hérault River; and the underground caves of the Grotte de Clamouse.

Etang de Thau (40km)

Situated on the coast, the Etang de Thau is the largest shellfish-producing lagoon in the Languedoc. It runs alongside the Pays de Thau, Sète, Balaruc-les-Bains, Bouzigues, Mèze et Marseillan.

Minerve and the Cathar castles (46km)

The old Cathar city of Minerve, perched on a rocky promontory, is classified as one of France’s most beautiful villages. Natural bridges created by the Cesse and Brian Rivers have made it an outstanding spot. Minerve is also the departure point for a day trip exploring the history and ruins of the Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse and Quéribus.

Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park (30km)

The park offers a wide variety of landscapes to explore, ranging from vineyards to mountains to picturesque villages; and is subject to both Atlantic and the Mediterranean climatic influences. With fantastic views across the Mediterranean Sea, it’s the perfect place to go hiking.
