Perched on a cliff overlooking the River Orb, the St Nazaire Cathedral symbolised the power of Béziers’ bishops between 760 and 1789. On the east facade a rose window, 10m in diameter, sits between two fortified towers dating from the 14th century. The choir, a vestige from the Roman cathedral, houses sculpted capitals dating from the 11th century. The cloister galleries contain other handsome sculptures. From the terrace you can look out over the surrounding area, the Canal du Midi and the Oppidum d’Ensérune.
